1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SearchJet, you confirm that:

• You are at least 16 years old
• You have the authority to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• You accept our Privacy Policy

2. Account Registration & Security

To use certain features of SearchJet, you must create an account:

• Accurate Information: You must provide accurate, complete, and current information
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• Account Activity: You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account
• Notification: You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• One Account: You may only create one account per person/organization unless authorized by SearchJet

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use SearchJet for any of the following prohibited activities:

⚠️ Enforcement: Violations will result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.

4. API Usage & Rate Limits

SearchJet provides API access subject to the following limits:

Rate Limit Enforcement: Exceeding rate limits will result in HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) responses. Continued abuse may result in temporary or permanent API access suspension.

5. Content Policy & Indexing

You are responsible for all content you index and make searchable through SearchJet:

• Legal Compliance: All indexed content must comply with applicable laws (copyright, privacy, defamation, etc.)
• Rights & Permissions: You must have the right to index and display all content
• Prohibited Content: See Acceptable Use Policy (Section 3)
• Content Removal: We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws
• DMCA Compliance: We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices

6. Subscription & Billing

Paid subscriptions are subject to the following terms:

• Payment: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via PayPal
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
• Refunds: No refunds for partial months, except as required by law
• Price Changes: We may change prices with 30 days' notice
• Overages: Exceeding plan limits may result in additional charges or service suspension

7. Account Termination

Accounts may be terminated under the following circumstances:

7.1 User-Initiated Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Privacy & Data. All data will be permanently deleted within 48 hours (GDPR Article 17).

7.2 SearchJet-Initiated Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

• Violation of these Terms or Acceptable Use Policy
• Fraudulent activity or payment disputes
• Extended periods of inactivity (6+ months for free accounts)
• Legal requirements or law enforcement requests

Notice: We will provide 30 days' notice for terminations (except for violations or legal requirements). No refunds will be issued for terminated accounts.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and software provided through SearchJet are protected by intellectual property laws:

• SearchJet Platform: The SearchJet platform, logo, and branding are owned by SearchJet Engine
• Open-Source Components: SearchJet uses Meilisearch (MIT License) and other open-source technologies. We make no claim of ownership and use them in compliance with their licenses.
• User Content: You retain all rights to your indexed content. You grant SearchJet a license to index, store, and display your content for the purpose of providing the Services.

9. Privacy & Data Protection

SearchJet is committed to protecting your privacy:

• GDPR & CCPA Compliance: We comply with EU GDPR and California CCPA regulations
• Data Retention: Plan-based retention (30-365 days) with automated cleanup
• IP Anonymization: IP addresses are anonymized based on your plan
• Your Rights: Access, rectification, erasure, portability (see Privacy Policy)

10. Service Availability & SLA

While we strive for high availability, SearchJet is provided "as-is" and "as-available":

• Uptime Target: 99.9% uptime for paid plans (see SLA)
• Maintenance: We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
• Downtime: We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss
• Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SearchJet and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the Services
• Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws
• Your content or indexed data
• Infringement of third-party rights

13. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute:

• Informal Resolution: Contact us at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution
• Arbitration: Disputes not resolved informally shall be settled by binding arbitration
• Class Action Waiver: You agree not to participate in class action lawsuits against SearchJet
• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by [Your Jurisdiction] law

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• For material changes, we will notify you via email or service notification
• Continued use of Services after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you do not agree to changes, you must stop using the Services and delete your account

15. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SearchJet
• Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to successors
• Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our control
