Quick Start Guide - SearchJet Instant Search
Get up and running with SearchJet Instant Search in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through installation, configuration, and going live.
Installation
- Go to Plugins, Add New in your WordPress admin.
- Search for SearchJet Instant Search.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- The SearchJet menu will appear in your WordPress sidebar.
Basic Setup
Create a free account at searchjetengine.com. Copy your API key from the dashboard. Go to SearchJet Settings in WordPress, paste the key, and click Connect. The plugin will start indexing your content automatically.
What Happens Next
SearchJet indexes your posts, pages, products, categories, tags, and custom fields in the background. For most sites this takes 2-5 minutes. You can monitor progress in the dashboard.
Once indexing completes, the search widget is automatically active on your site. Visitors will see instant results as they type. No theme changes or shortcode placement is required.
The widget auto-detects your theme colors and adjusts its appearance. To customize the look, go to SearchJet Settings, Appearance. You can change colors, border radius, and result layout.
