Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to add AI-powered search to your WordPress site in under 5 minutes.
Prerequisites
- WordPress 5.0 or higher
- A publicly accessible website (not localhost)
- Admin access to install plugins
Step 1: Install the Plugin
Go to Plugins, Add New in your WordPress admin. Search for SearchJet Instant Search. Click Install Now, then Activate. The plugin will appear in your sidebar menu.
Step 2: Get Your API Key
Visit searchjetengine.com and create a free account. Navigate to your dashboard and copy your API key. The free tier includes up to 1,000 indexed items and 10,000 searches per month.
Step 3: Connect and Go Live
Back in WordPress, go to SearchJet Settings. Paste your API key and click Connect. SearchJet will start indexing your content automatically. You will see a progress bar in the dashboard.
Once indexing completes, your search is live. Visitors will see instant results as they type. The widget auto-detects your theme colors and matches your site design.
